Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds
Minutes of the July 9, 2009 Meeting

Present:  Mayor Driscoll, Raymond Vaillancourt, & Thaddeus Buczko

The meeting was called to order at 5:30PM in the Mayor’s office.

Several applicants for the FY2010 Large Grants attended the meeting and made presentations (Children’s Friend and Family Society, Women’s Friend, Salem Philharmonics Director, Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, Cyber Space, Brook House, and the Pantry).

Robert Lutts was unable to attend the meeting but sent an outline of the proposed available funding for FY2010.  The report indicated an overall decrease in available funds of 7% from last year.  After review by the Board, Thaddeus Buczko made a motion to decrease funding for FY2010 by 7%, allow the Brook House to submit invoices for medication reimbursement for the Endicott fund not to exceed $5,000, reduce the Boys & Girls Club amount to $8,000, and the Salem Mission to $8,000 and add $4,000 to The Pantry for food for Salem residents.  The motion was seconded by Raymond Vaillancourt and voted unanimously.   A detailed list is attached on a separate page.

The merchants from the Salem Willows submitted statement for food and rides for the Annual Read, Smith, Buffum Picnic ($2,058.75).  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve funds from the picnic accounts for payment.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

Deschamps Printing forwarded invoices for the Picnic tickets and flyers ($845.00) and envelopes ($263.00).  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to pay from the picnic and administration accounts for the expenses.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

Nichols and Read Library interest earned, $1,190.34, will be sent to the main branch.

Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 11, 2009 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

The Cemetery requested funding for repairs to the Dickson Chapel roof ($885.00).
Thaddeus Buczko made a motion to approve payment from the Dickson Fund.
The motion was seconded by Raymond Vaillancourt and voted unanimously.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50PM
